So I've been taking quite a few photos with my film camera lately. I was particularly addicted this fall when bright colors were abounding and water sparkled on living things. I also enjoyed the end of the summer--between ski trips I was extra sensitive to the changing seasons and sun patterns. I think you can see these things in my photos. I was intrigued by the face of the stars, sun, moon, and light and how all of these aspects changed as my location on this earth did the same. Forms took shape in woods, in pines, in lakes and in playgrounds. Something unique can be seen when surroundings are drastically contrasted. It's easy to get in a pattern, but not as simple when you're constantly jet lagged, oxygen deprived, sun hungry, under and overdressed, slept, hungry, abuzz. It seems easy to sleep it off, but while my body needed it, my mind resisted. I just wanted to observe. Here are a few of my observations.

After returning home from Colorado yesterday, I realized I didn't take any pictures while I was there (other than a few silly shots on my phone for Instagram. By the way, check out my Instagram feed--lalalaurenne). I'm going to change that now that I'm home again and have time. I just looked on my overflowing shelf and saw my polaroid, two old film cameras, and my tiny old Russian spy film camera I bought at an antique store in Bulgaria last year...I'm going to have to try that one out. Colorado was some of the best training I've had--I'm skiing fast and getting stoked for the race season to kick off next week in Lake Louise. I've got quite a more photos, but will post them later as I don't want to overwhelm the few followers that read this page. So check in soon. And get psyched for snow. It's coming.

Ahhh Laurenne,
WE DO READ YOUR BLOG!
"Where your treasure is, there your heart will be"
Beautiful blog, beautiful spirit. You realize the opportunities that are given each day, and you see the value in the moment: the goodness of friendship, the splendor of nature, the gift of music, the awe of athletic prowess, and so forth ...
Your treasures ARE worthy of your time, energy, and spirit. You have earned your victories, your "ah-ha's", and your battle scars. So keep exploring and observing on your journey, and THANK YOU for sharing.
I have now performed a Native American ritual smudge blessing with eagle feather for your protection, and have queued up Joni Mitchell for the precise moment that #4(first race) is at the start gate ready to sail down the Lake Louise course.
SO THE WINDOWS WIDE OPEN, BREATHE DEEP, BE FREE, FLY LALA!!

Voice of Sensei: Ahh Grasshopper, congratulations numba11 finish, your teammates did headstands for you, you now know the path. Do you see bib 29 start = 11 start on many levels for tomorrow?

Voice of Rocky's coach Mick: Cmon kid ya got heart now USE those legs like pile drivers!

So new smudge blessing is now adjusted for probable weather, using abalone shell with owl feather to dispel fog and aid with vision. Oh, and going with traditional Hawaiian musical accompaniment!
