Laurenne,
I have been watching the season for many of the USST members and I had even left comments on your Instagram now and again.
Before I start rambling, first, your thought of sharing or a group of people sharing was interesting. Who reads blogs...? My perspective is one of being inspired. Seeing some succeed what I did not achieve but often dreamed of. Being able to place myself in a world through your eyes ( or others ) allows us to grasp that moment in place and time that eluded us.
Passion....We love this sport. It drives in different ways but essentially we all yearn for that moment you described as being able to feel the carve as almost floating and having peace of mind for that moment and then want to feel it again.
Fear.....we all have it and I have felt the pain from crossing the edge. Where do we live at ? the danger side or the safe side?
I guess some folks find the balancing point or have learned to push past the fear. I don't let it control me though, so maybe fear is something we secretly like to flirt with.
Adventure....wow you are so lucky to see the things and meet the people you do on tour. History, culture, food and so much more! you get to feel and smell and touch things that have been around for century's. That's why we read blogs. To live a moment through you were we can not be!
Growth....to see a person represent our sport and country who is willing to share. see your development, see your changes in performance, see you victories and failures and watch you learn and grow from them.
Admiration.....we admire you! We want you to succeed! We need to know it's possible so we can challenge ourselves be as confident as you. since age ten I wanted to race but I was too old or too fat and not enough money. So I race through the USST and cheer for everyone's achievements.
Memories....our good days on snow and the bad. Seeing your world through pictures. Sharing our pictures with anyone willing to look at know, hey I get it!

Laurenne.... be the best you. follow your heart and listen to your soul. You have been given an opportunity to do amazing things. Grab them! Live them! Believe it is meant to be and that you control your destiny when others either can't or wont believe they can.

I just wanted to say thank you, you are a true inspiration. Not just because of ski racing, but because you're truly an incredible person. You're a spectacular photographer too! Please keep sharing your talents with us, it is inspiring and wonderful.
